What the South Wight has to offer: The South of the Isle of Wight incorporates some of the most exciting coastline from long stretches of beach with hidden fossils and exposed dinosaur footprints, to rugged cliff tops with exhilarating views and historical monuments and pretty villages steeped in history, the inspiration for artists and authors old and new.

You must visit Blackgang Chine is a must for all the family with a fantastic variety of activities for all the family to spend a great day out. Themed areas like Frontierland where you can play Cowboys and Indians in a full sized Cowboy Town, and rides like Waterforce where you can choose the fast 'overflows', or the scary 'plug-hole' - you'll have to see it and experience it to believe it! Attractions Superbly situated beside the sparkling waters of Sandown Bay, the twin resorts of Sandown and Shanklin have delighted generations of holiday-makers for over 150 years. Along Culver Parade you'll find tennis, bowls, GoKarting, crazy golf, a pitch and putt course, the Tiger Sanctuary and Dinosaur Isle Museum. At the southern end of town the Heights Health and Leisure Base has indoor swimming pools and further inland is a fine 18 hole golf course. With its charming thatch-roofed cottages and winding main street lined with tearooms, Godshill is the quintessential English Village. Traveling South to Wroxall there's the Donkey Sanctuary and Appledurcombe House now offering Owl and Falconry displays.

Visit Chale Green Deli and Coffee shop and on to the Southern most tip of the Island St Catherine's with its ancient Pepperpot. Ventnor Botanic Garden provides a lovely walk and then lunch at their very successful café. Walking There are coastal paths around the Island and this section features the Isle of Wight's famous chines. Whale Chine is the most spectacular in a series of Chines along this stretch of coastline. Devil's Chimney provides an exciting walk through enchanted woodland down to the beach; Chale Bay is stunning; Wealdon Beds which have yielded fossilized remains of dinosaurs. With features like St Catherine's Lighthouse many feel this section offers the best walking and views of the entire Isle of Wight. Beach Life Sandown and Shanklin on the south-east coast share a wide crescent of golden sand, with safe swimming, water sports and a range of bars, pubs and cafés. The southern stretch, below Shanklin Chine, is the quietest and most attractive.

Ventnor has a wonderful Mediterranean light and, like Sandown and Shanklin, an enviable sunshine record. Steephill Cove is its prettiest beach, a peaceful little bay with a good beach café. Reach it via the coastal footpath from the Botanic Gardens, or La Falaise car park in Ventnor. Places to eat Try the local seafood, in particular crab, lobster, haddock dishes. The vast majority of pubs are highly geared up for food and usually the portions are on the large side. Fresh crab in particular can be tasty from beachside cafe's and can also be purchased from the fisherman at seafood huts selling direct, two places spring to mind: Ventnor Fresh Crab Beach Hut and a fisherman's house at Steephill Cove next to the café'.
Fantastic Cottage and lovely welcome as last year - How lucky we are to have
stayed 3 months. Looking forward to 2019 stay.

Aged 11/12 - I found this place wonderful and the scenery was nice. I loved looking at the horses and my bed was very comfy.
It was fun staying here and I will be back!
Thank you very much - fantastic Cottage - loved the welcome goodies!

We have had an amazing time. Nothing has been too much trouble. Loved

Thank you so much for your friendly welcome and the lovely bowl of fruit and other food items.
Sunnyside Cottage is a wonderful place to stay - we really all enjoyed ourselves - just lovely.

Sunnyside is the perfect cottage spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped, in a good location for visiting all of the Island.
We have had wonderful weather, enjoyed our holiday here and loved your beautiful horses!!
Thank you so much for your friendly welcome and the lovely bowl of fruit, wine and other items.
Good Luck in the future with your beautiful cottage.

Sunnyside Cottage has surpassed all our expectations and the provisions provided were very
much appreciated and this has contributed greatly to our short visit.
We have all fallen in love with the Isle of Wight and will certainly make another visit.

We had a wonderful week at Sunnyside Cottage, made very welcome by Brian and Sabrie, and
thank you very much for the fresh fruit, bread, milk and wine. We loved it here so much that
we are returning next year with the rest of the family. My hubby also spent many happy hours down on the lake
fishing, overall one of the best holidays we have had, thank you Brian and Sabrie xxx

Sabrie thank you very much for the friendly greeting from yourself when we arrived and for Brian's
speed in sorting the hot water!
The little touches, flowers, wine and fruit are lovely - Also very clean - massive thank you.

Thank you Sabrie & Brian for being such welcoming hosts. Although we didn't meet you Sabrie (gave you a knock on Friday eve, sorry you weren't in)
Ann was the lovley lady we met on the Saturday we arrived and she was so friendly and told us everything we needed to know.
The flowers, wine and fruit bowl were more than we expected but so gratefully received thank you.
A lovely Cottage that suited our families needs really well. Hope this won't be our 1st and last time staying here.
Look forward to coming again one year!

Our first stay at Sunnyside Cottage and a wonderful stay it has been.
We were greeted by Sabrie on arrival who made us feel very welcome.
Extremely spacious which has meant space for the littles ones to run around and us oldies to relax.
The dogs also enjoyed the open space around the cottage.
With so much to do on the I.O.W a week has not been enough. Our visit to Shanklin today meant we stumbled
upon 'Jurassic Jims' fossil shop which was full of amazing finds. Well worth a visit. We have certainly
enjoyed our stay here and would love to return in the future.

Milo: aged 3 - " I liked looking at the star wars books in the book shop (Babushka Books, Shanklin)
and Robin Hill was the best in the world ever!"

Danielle: aged 16 - This was my second time visiting the Island and yet we will didnt run out of things to do!
The Cottage was beautiful and upon our arrival Sabrie was so warm and immediately helped us to settle in to
the accommodation. Our spirits were not dampened by the rainy weather toweards the end of our stay with the
quirky shops situated in Godshill and Shanklin providing us with something to do in all weathers. Will
definitely be returning soon!

This is our second time in I.O.W and first time at Sunnyside. We had an amazing time and really enjoyed the time spent at the cottage.
The horses were a massive hit with the boys, it was wonderful to be able to have a bbq on our last day here and let the boys play safely outdoors.
The fruit basket and wine was a massive hit with us, so thank you. Sabrie and Brian were quick to help resolve any queries that we had and were very helpful.
Great location, and we would definitely recommend the cottage to our family and friends.

We enjoyed our stay at Sunnyside immensely. The welcome basket was much appreciated, lasting over a period of days.
Sabrie and Brian have been very kind and helpful and we love what they have done with this house.
Highlights of the week were meals at The Yarbridge Inn and the Taveners, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House,
A.J's in Shanklin for chips Dunroamin Beach, Lake.
We visited St Boniface's 11th Century church in Bonchurch - beautiful views on the cliff walk, and visited
Swinburne's grave at the newer St Boniface Church Site, coinciding our trip with seeing a performance by Hampshire Poet
Rogan Whitenails! The following lines were written at Sunnyside Cottage!
The wind was cold, but elicited fascinating canopy mechanics, starting in inscriber of arcs with a Fledgling's
instincts, moving by its leaning in the courtyard.
