Ryde Town

Ryde is the largest town on the Isle of Wight, and with its prominent position along the seafront and hovercraft and passenger ferry links it is little wonder it is often referred to as The Gateway to the Island

In addition to an expanse of sandy beaches which stretch right along the town, Ryde has a great selection of boutique shops, museums and galleries for you to visit along with lots of other things to see and do along its esplanade.

Ryde offers a great variety of things to do which will interest all ages, not least of which are the hovercraft and catamaran ferry from which you can travel to and from the mainland.

Hovertravel are the world’s oldest hovercraft operator and operate the last remaining hovercraft passenger service in Britain, whereas a trip on the Wightlink catamaran service will take you down Ryde’s recently restored early 19th century pier, which carries both vehicle traffic and train services.

Head along Ryde esplanade and you will encounter a number of great places for family entertainment, including the Superbowl and LaserQuest.

Further along there is a fun fair for young children and a very popular canoe lake which leads on to Ryde’s sandy beaches.

At low tide the sea goes out a long way making it a popular place for sports and outdoor activities, and a regular venue for beach soccer tournaments.

Seaview Village

Seaview sits to the eastern end of the town of Ryde, and is a unique village with extensive views across the sea and Solent.

Seaview has a reputation for being an upmarket resort, and as such is very popular with tourists. During the summer months the village becomes a busy centre for sailing and water sports.

There are some highly regarded places to eat in Seaview and the nearby area with a great variety of restaurants and gastro pubs offering a wonderful range of food and drink, as well as a café near Puckpool Park.

Frequent buses link the East Wight with both Ryde and Newport.

Solent View is a lovely bungalow with excellent accommodation, with a lovely homely atmosphere. The area is very quiet. Lovely to walk out onto the deck in the morning and see big ships gliding by in the distance along the Solent!! Also enchanted by the sight of two red squirrels chasing each other around the garden, great wildlife moment. Loved the Isle of Wight, we will have to come back again as there is so much to do and a week was not long enough to see everything. Great walking in the area, lots of well maintained public rights of way, so that you can go on long hikes through lovely scenery almost from the front door. Beaches were lovely, small and picturesque and quiet.

Another great week in this lovely bungalow - our second year running - we love it hope we may even come back again.
So well equipped - everything you could need - Maybe a rail from decking to lawn - it's so dangerous for older guests.
We were blessed with marvellous weather which was the icing on the cake ! Thank you again.

Back again! and loving every moment - we feel so blessed for the provisions of this wonderful home !
We hope to return next year too.

Thank you once again.

Very comfortable stay. Everything here that we needed. Good value for money.
Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds. Even the weather was perfect. We have had a very enjoyable holiday on the
Isle of Wight. 10/10 Thank you

This is our first visit to the I.O.W and what a wonderful home to have as our base. You have thought
of everything lovely and clean, spacious and quiet. The children loved the great selection of games!
Lots of beautiful local spots to walk and enjoy the sea. We couldn't have asked for more.
Thank you

Thank you for sharing your home, we have had a fantastic holiday this year, on the Isle of Wight
and the weather was good. Not only is your home, clean warm and inviting it is perfectly located for us!
This home is very well equipped and has everything you could need. I couldn't quite believe there was
a temperature prob in the kitchen! (I have one at home and use it all the time)
The only thing i couldn't find was a garlic crusher, but that's not a complaint !
We went out locally for walks and drove further a field, the countryside is just stunning around here.
We will definitely be back.
Thank you again.

Our first time at the bungalow but hopefully not our last. We have visited the Island thousands of times.
We have family here and Ryan comes from the Island. This is by far our fav place to stay clean, comfortable,
and well equipped. Defo home from home for us all. We were sad not to see a red squirrel - may be next time !!
We don't want to go home!!
Thank you for sharing you home with us.

Another wonderful 2 weeks at Solent View lovely and clean as usual.
We love staying here, only disappointing thing was the tv controls think
they may need to relinked not a major thing. Weather could of been better
but made the most of it. We will be returning.

We've had a lovely time in this bungalow and on the I.O.W
It's a really nice place and we are quite fussy ! If we ever come back we would definitely stay here again.
We've had fantastic weather all week except one day when it rained a lot!
We have been all over the Island and had some great meals out. The Waterfront in Shanklin is a lovely
setting by sea. If I were to be a little picky a shelf in en-suite would be useful and maybe a kettle filter as the water tasted
a little hard, we did end up buying a big water to use for tea and coffee. But these things are small and it didn't make a
difference to our lovely holiday. Thank you for our great stay at Seaview. The dog enjoyed it too!

Second visit to the bungalow.
Very comfortable and a home from home ! Weather 1st week not too good but warm and sunny second week.
Should be back again next year.

2nd visit to your lovely bungalow - it is so very much my favourite property we have stayed in(+ over years have been a lot !)
Grown up kids joined us for the 1st week and they enjoyed it here as well. Had superb weather, in a heat wave for 6 days
and was absolutely roasting !!
Did lots of walking making the most of the Islands beauty - visited Steephill Cove for 1st evert time (why had we never been before ?)
We will definitely be back next year.
* Only disappointment - despite putting nuts out on patio and them going we never saw a red squirrel *

Our first time in this lovely house and our first on the I.O.W. we have had a wonderful time.
Seen a lot of the sights in great weather (most of the time !) It really is a wonderful place to stay
and hopefully we will be back !
Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely house.

We love this place!
So peaceful, great little bungalow. This time we tried Steephill Cover, perfect, just like Cornwall.
Nice and easy cycle ride from St Helens to Brading is worth a try- not too far with a cafe stop just across the causeway.
Bembridge Harbour and of course Freshwater Bay always a pleasure. See you soon.

Hooray! we are the first to sign your book for 2017 yip yip!! Our week has been amazing !!
Thank you
