Entered at road level, the accommodation has an open plan lounge, kitchen and diner with patio doors leading out to a wide balcony. Downstairs there are three bedrooms, two with sea views and patio doors to a terrace and garden. A family bathroom, shower room and utility room are also on this floor. The garden is tiered over several levels and has garden furniture available so you can relax and enjoy the views. There is on-road parking at the front of the property, and limited off-road parking is available in the driveway for a very small car.

Suncliff is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance to the centre of Ventnor town. In addition to the main shopping streets where you will find a selection of small supermarkets and independent shops, there is the esplanade with pubs and cafes and the wonderful beach. There are parks and gardens, museums and the Winter Gardens - an entertainment venue with a growing reputation for theatre, concerts, comedy and dance shows and of course, with a restaurant and bar. The renowned Ventnor Haven Fishery at the Marina sells the daily catch of fresh fish and seafood; boat trips are also available from here.

There are a number of good restaurants in Ventnor including The Spyglass, right on the beach, several in the town including a vegan restaurant, and the amazing Marsala Bay Indian restaurant, which also does take-away. If you fancy a take-away on the beach, the Ventnor Haven Fishery sells fantastic fish and chips, locally caught and prepared to order.

Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous ‘Undercliff’. This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk cliffs. In addition to enjoying the lovely gardens, it also hosts events and exhibitions and there is the restaurant and tea rooms on-site for refreshments, lunch or coffee and cake!

From the Esplanade you can take a level walk along the sea wall to Bonchurch (with a stop at The Seapot - a lovely beachfront cafe on the way), or walk along the cliff path towards Steephill Cove, a beautiful sheltered bay only accessible by foot where there is a cafe and very good fish restaurant.

Ventnor Town

Ventnor on the South coast of the Isle of Wight is a picturesque seaside resort, and one of Britain's most famous Victorian health resorts due to its unique micro-climate.

The town lies beneath St Boniface Down (the highest point on the Isle of Wight) and for the most part is built on the side of a steep hill leading down to the seafront and beach.

The beach huts that line the back of the beach are converted Victorian “bathing machines” and are available to hire, along with deckchairs and private areas.

Ventnor has plenty of things to do both in the town and nearby.

Ventnor Beach is a great suntrap, and the sand and shingle beach is great for sunbathing and family swimming.

Ventnor Marina and the bandstand development are very prominent on the seafront and offer a great viewing platform to look out to sea, and the Ventnor Haven Fishery sells the best in local crab and lobster.

Opposite the marina the spectacular Cascade Gardens run down the side of the cliff where the main road zig-zags its way back up into the main town.

Further along there is a children’s paddling pool which features a giant map of the Isle of Wight, and from here there are great walks to Wheelers Bay and Bonchurch along the Sea Wall.

A short distance from the seafront at the Western side of the town you can stroll through the beautiful Victorian Ventnor Park. This leads onto the famous Ventnor Botanic Gardens at the Undercliff, where the town’s micro-climate can be truly appreciated in a 22 acre sub-tropical paradise, see if you can spot the indigenous wall lizards here.

A short walk from here and you will discover one of the Isle of Wight’s best kept secrets, Steephill Cove, which is one of the most relaxing beaches on the Island.

Along Ventnor esplanade there are several pubs, cafes and restaurants offering a variety of food and refreshments, with a number of alternative places to eat further into town.

With the local fisheries there are some great fish and seafood options available at many of the eateries, and some of the local hotels are highly recommended for their fine dining experiences.

In recent years Ventnor has become the regular host of several big arts and culture events, with the Isle of Arts Festival and Ventnor Fringe.

It is also one of the Isle of Wight’s main carnival towns, with daytime and illuminated processions usually taking place during the summer months.

A short drive along the coast is one of the Isle of Wight’s best known attractions, Blackgang Chine, and regular events are hosted here to entertain all the family.

You can enjoy the spectacular scenery from the top deck of one of the regular buses that serves the town.

Catch a bus northwards to Shanklin, Sandown & Ryde, or travel across the Island to Godshill, Newport or Cowes.

Had such a wonderful stay on the ISland and in this beautiful house. We were so excited seeing the photos online and when we arrived it exceeded our expectations. It is so well equipped, you have really thought of everything and more with extra special touches.
Thank you for the fizz and chocolates!
We are realy going to miss the wonderful views.

This property was very well equipped and had amazing views from the lounge and dining room. Plenty of room for a family of four + 2 Grandparents to spread out and relax.

Beautiful views and great house and so clean would stay again

Outstanding property. Immaculate. Well equipped. Lovely towels and bed linen. Fabulous views. Easy walk into Ventnor - slightly challenging uphill walk back!

We had a nice break, lovely house and great views.
Lots of nice places to eat, shame about the weather!

We all enjoyed our stay at Suncliff, the house is beautiful and the view spectacular.
The house is very well equipped and comfortable. We had a couple of good meals at
the Spyglass Inn and good fish and chips from Ocean View (best to phone with your order or you could be in for a long wait!)
We loved Robin Hill Country Park, Ventnor Botanic Gardens, Shanklin Seafront, Ryde Seafront and we all enjoyed the Model
Village at Godshill.

Lots we did not manage to do so hopefully we will be back again soon.

Family of 6 - 4 adults, 2 kids
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Suncliff, the house is beautiful and even the two girls (7,4) agreed.
Everything has been thought of here, location is great and views are amazing. There is too much to do
in the short time we spent here, would definately return and recommend.

The Needles - good morning/afternoon out
Model Village - fabulous and lovely little village
Donkey Sanctury - nice (if you like donkeys) for an hour walk around.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Beautiful views, comfortable accommodation and a much appreciated welcome pack.
We would stay again !
