NEW FOR 2019

This stunning detached 3 bedroom house is situated in an elevated position in the Victorian seaside town of Ventnor and has spectacular sea views. (Click on the photos below to view more of the property)

Entered at road level, the accommodation has an open plan lounge, kitchen and diner with patio doors leading out to a wide balcony. Downstairs there are three bedrooms, two with sea views and patio doors to a terrace and garden. A family bathroom, shower room and utility room are also on this floor. The garden is tiered over several levels and has garden furniture available so you can relax and enjoy the views. There is parking to the front of the property.

Suncliff is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance to the centre of Ventnor town. In addition to the main shopping streets where you will find a selection of small supermarkets and independent shops, there is the esplanade with pubs and cafes and the wonderful beach. There are parks and gardens, museums and the Winter Gardens - an entertainment venue with a growing reputation for theatre, concerts, comedy and dance shows and of course, with a restaurant and bar. The renowned Ventnor Haven Fishery at the Marina sells the daily catch of fresh fish and seafood; boat trips are also available from here.

There are a number of good restaurants in Ventnor including The Spyglass, right on the beach, several in the town including a vegan restaurant, and the amazing Marsala Bay Indian restaurant, which also does take-away. If you fancy a take-away on the beach, the Ventnor Haven Fishery sells fantastic fish and chips, locally caught and prepared to order.

Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous ‘Undercliff’. This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk cliffs. In addition to enjoying the lovely gardens, it also hosts events and exhibitions and there is the restaurant and tea rooms on-site for refreshments, lunch or coffee and cake!

From the Esplanade you can take a level walk along the sea wall to Bonchurch (with a stop at The Seapot - a lovely beachfront cafe on the way), or walk along the cliff path towards Steephill Cove, a beautiful sheltered bay only accessible by foot where there is a cafe and very good fish restaurant.

What the South Wight has to offer:

The South of the Isle of Wight incorporates some of the most exciting coastline from long stretches of beach with hidden fossils and exposed dinosaur footprints, to rugged cliff tops with exhilarating views and historical monuments and pretty villages steeped in history, the inspiration for artists and authors old and new.

You must visit

Blackgang Chine is a must for all the family with a fantastic variety of activities for all the family to spend a great day out. Themed areas like Frontierland where you can play Cowboys and Indians in a full sized Cowboy Town, and rides like Waterforce where you can choose the fast 'overflows', or the scary 'plug-hole' - you'll have to see it and experience it to believe it!

Superbly situated beside the sparkling waters of Sandown Bay, the twin resorts of Sandown and Shanklin have delighted generations of holiday-makers for over 150 years. Along Culver Parade you'll find tennis, bowls, GoKarting, crazy golf, a pitch and putt course, the Tiger Sanctuary and Dinosaur Isle Museum. At the southern end of town the Heights Health and Leisure Base has indoor swimming pools and further inland is a fine 18 hole golf course.

With its charming thatch-roofed cottages and winding main street lined with tearooms, Godshill is the quintessential English Village. Travelling South to Wroxall there's the Donkey Sanctuary and Appuldurcombe House now offering Owl and Falconry displays. Visit Chale Green Deli and Coffee shop and on to the Southern most tip of the Island St Catherine's with its ancient Pepperpot. Ventnor Botanic Garden provides a lovely walk and then lunch at their very successful café.

There are coastal paths around the Island and this section features the Isle of Wight's famous chines. Whale Chine is the most spectacular in a series of Chines along this stretch of coastline. Devil's Chimney provides an exciting walk through enchanted woodland down to the beach; Chale Bay is stunning; Wealdon Beds which have yielded fossilized remains of dinosaurs. With features like St Catherine's Lighthouse many feel this section offers the best walking and views of the entire Isle of Wight.

Beach Life

Sandown and Shanklin on the south-east coast share a wide crescent of golden sand, with safe swimming, water sports and a range of bars, pubs and cafés. The southern stretch, below Shanklin Chine, is the quietest and most attractive.

Ventnor has a wonderful Mediterranean light and, like Sandown and Shanklin, an enviable sunshine record. Steephill Cove is its prettiest beach, a peaceful little bay with a good beach café. Reach it via the coastal footpath from the Botanic Gardens, or La Falaise car park in Ventnor.

Places to eat

Try the local seafood, in particular crab, lobster, haddock dishes. The vast majority of pubs are highly geared up for food and usually the portions are on the large side. Fresh crab in particular can be tasty from beachside cafe's and can also be purchased from the fisherman at seafood huts selling direct, two places spring to mind: Ventnor Fresh Crab Beach Hut and a fisherman's house at Steephill Cove next to the café.

We had a nice break, lovely house and great views.
Lots of nice places to eat, shame about the weather!

We all enjoyed our stay at Suncliff, the house is beautiful and the view spectacular.
The house is very well equipped and comfortable. We had a couple of good meals at
the Spyglass Inn and good fish and chips from Ocean View (best to phone with your order or you could be in for a long wait!)
We loved Robin Hill Country Park, Ventnor Botanic Gardens, Shanklin Seafront, Ryde Seafront and we all enjoyed the Model
Village at Godshill.

Lots we did not manage to do so hopefully we will be back again soon.

Family of 6 - 4 adults, 2 kids
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Suncliff, the house is beautiful and even the two girls (7,4) agreed.
Everything has been thought of here, location is great and views are amazing. There is too much to do
in the short time we spent here, would definately return and recommend.

The Needles - good morning/afternoon out
Model Village - fabulous and lovely little village
Donkey Sanctury - nice (if you like donkeys) for an hour walk around.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Beautiful views, comfortable accommodation and a much appreciated welcome pack.
We would stay again !
