Fields View
is a well-equipped detached bungalow sleeping 4 guests in king-size and twin bedrooms. It is situated on Eades Farm in the rural hamlet of Newbridge, 9 miles west of Newport and 5 miles from Yarmouth, not far from the IOW cycle route.
Stunning country and woodland views are enjoyed from most rooms in this recently refurbished home. Original artwork and prints are featured on the walls.

A newly fitted kitchen with a dining area at one end has lovely views across the fields to Brighstone Forest. There is a cosy living room with smart TV, comfy seating and a sofa bed – for one extra guest on request (please bring own bedlinen for sofa bed) - and a conservatory off, also with comfy armchairs overlooking the view. There is also a large shower room with WC and a lockable utility room that could be used as an extra wash room, with tumble dryer, washing machine and an additional WC.
Outside at the back of the bungalow a lawned garden with patio, barbecue and firepit area (lit with fairy lights after dark) provides a great place from which to enjoy the countryside views.

The garden is now fully enclosed so dogs are very welcome at Fields View (max 2), Dog towels are provided.

During the summer months there is room for bikes to be stored in the shed at the end of the bungalow.

Eades Farm is a working farm and from the bridleway you can access country walks and woodland. There are nearby unspoiled beaches (under 10 mins drive), local pubs/eateries and many things to see and do.

Points to note are farm livestock and the noises they can make, some restricted areas, and the inevitable dust/mud a farm can bring. We advise guests turn up with their wellies if the weather is wet, although there’s no need if you’re planning to just use your vehicle.
On site there is a friendly dog and at times you may be able to see our local owls and red squirrels. In the evening you can enjoy dark skies and a view of the stars on cloudless nights.

Island Holiday Homes is pleased to welcome Fields View to the market for the 2024 season and we know this unique holiday home will prove to be very popular, so we advise booking early.

Pets Allowed charged at £35.00 per pet per week Max 2 dogs

Newbridge is a rural hamlet with surrounding countryside and woodland which remains untouched. The local walks are too many to mention so we will leave this adventure to the visitor. During the summer months 'The Orchards' campsite in Newbridge opens a fish and chip shop.

Calbourne, Shalfleet and Wellow are villages close to Newbridge.

You can enjoy a stroll along the famous and picturesque ‘Winkle Street’ in Calbourne much painted by artists in the last century. The Sun Inn is nearby, along with Calbourne Water Mill which can be reach on foot from Fields View.
The 11th century Shalfleet church, St Michael the Archangel, has a strong tower built to withstand pirates and invaders and is well worth a visit.
Opposite the church is the New Inn and a pleasant walk along to Shalfleet Quay. Shalfleet has a very useful village shop selling everyday essentials and locally produced food.
The family friendly Horse and Groom pub is along the main road towards Yarmouth.
From Fields View it is a short walk through the woods and along Dodpits Lane to Chessell Pottery, famed for its cakes and coffee.
West Wight Alpacas, which also has a cafe, is situated in the village of Wellow approximately 3 miles walk via footpaths.

Yarmouth

The historic town of Yarmouth is situated in the West of the Island, and is around 5 miles from Fields View. It is one of the main entry points for car and foot passengers from the mainland via Lymington. A serene ferry crossing of about 40 minutes.
Yarmouth has its own castle and a town square with traditional coaching house, pier, parish church and town hall and during the year hosts events such as The Annual Pancake Race, Bonfire Night procession and Christmas Carols.
Families may enjoy crabbing at the nearby river Yar bank and pier. Yarmouth Harbour is a magnet for sailors. During the summer months a variety of craft from many countries visit and there is an annual gathering of Old Gaffers’ yachts – 2024 dates not yet announced.

The bays of Freshwater, Totland, Colwell and Compton all have their unique charms and are not to be missed along with many other local attractions and beauty spots.
